NYFW | Day 7

Fashion Week has come to a close and so have my recaps. I always have so much fun doing these and I hope you all have fun reading them. Until next season!

Set in the St. Regis Hotel, the glitz and glam of Gatsby took the stage for the brands fall line. The collection featured a bit sheer pieces and open weaves providing the perfect amount of sexiness. There was plenty of fringe to go around because what would the 20's be without it? Some of the fringe was done with beads while others were done with feathers but the overall effect was all the same, stunning.

Micael Kors

Everyone was buzzing about this show yesterday, even my roommate who doesn't follow fashion nearly as closely as I do. Kors is no stranger to fur, using the staple in gorgeous ombre and blue outwear, collars, sleeves, and scarves. There were lots of neatly tailored pieces, my favorite of which had gold detailing on the sleeves, paired with chunky knits and sparkling dresses reminiscent of old hollywood. Kors is one of my favorite designers and he did not disappoint.

This brand is known for suiting and having Jason Wu as the creative director is tailoring heaven. The construction of the fall line was flawless in every detail. The show began rather boldly with colored blocked grey and orange garments and went on to more greys and icy blues as the show progressed. There was also a nice balance between the tailoring and dresses as Wu tries to bring more variety to the brand and reach more customers.
